BALI : Stay at Melia Nusa Dua Garden Villas / REVIEW

MELIA  GARDEN VILLAS / NUSA DUA / BALI

Travellerczech rating : 9/10

Location : 7/10

Melia’s location is far from hustle and bustle of Seminyak, about 30min drive from the airport in southern part of Bali, called Nusa Dua.

The area is known for its 5star resorts lined up all along of the peninsula coast. Ideal for luxury hideaway or family vacation.

Unfortunately, once you leave the resorts gates, there is not much to see, but Bali’s biggest shopping destination – Bali Collection Mall, with wide range of shopping and dining is only few minutes walk.

Style : 10/10

Melia Garden Villas offers the ultimate Balinese style luxury and I personally much prefer this traditional feel of Bali “long time gone”, instead of the new concrete and souless “designer” resorts.

Stone walls, natural materials, statues, wooden furniture and all the little details makes you feel like you really are on exotic vacation.

Villas : 10/10

Luxurious, spacious, comfortable and very private. Villas are set separately from the main resort, each measuring 350 square meters and surrounded by high walls of lush tropical gardens with a private plunge pool.

I have enjoyed the space and quietness so much, I have hardly left in 3 days  🙂

Each villa comes with :

  • private pool
  • sun loungers
  • outdoor dining patio
  • outdoor massage gazebo
  • private garden
  • indoor and outdoor shower
  • free Wi-Fi
  • 2 sinks in the bathroom
  • bathtube
  • wardrobe, safe, Illy coffee making facility, fridge…
  • aloe vera cooling gel 🙂
  • kimonos and slippers

The only down point were the Mosquitos…so take a good repellent and ask ask for daily fuming.

Service & Facilies : 10/10

Pampering starts immediately after entering your very own private check-in reception…welcoming hand carved coconut, fresh flower wreath and never ending list of benefits it’s just the beginning.

Benefits I have enjoyed the most :

  • separate huge pool ( plus private plunge pool at the villa )
  • free cocktails and canapés every day from 5-7pm
  • private restaurant for champagne breakfast ( + you can also use the buffet restaurant )
  • butler service

Food & Drinks : 10/10

Five restaurants with mix of international and local cuisine. Most enjoyable was the daily breakfast at the quite Sorrento restaurant and dinner at the outdoor Lotus Garden with a very impressive Balinese theatre show.

  • Sorrento – Mediterranean Restaurant  + private buffet breakfast
  • Sakura – Japanese Cuisine
  • Lotus Garden – Asian Restaurant
  • Sateria – Beach side restaurant – pizza, grill, cocktails
  • El Patio Coffee Shop 24hrs – buffet breakfast
  • Lobby bar

Value for money : 9/10

  • Starting from USD 500 p/n ( Aed 1836 )

Ok, at first it may look like a lot, but when you match the benefits, space, luxury, amenities and service ..this is more than a fair price compare other places. I would definitely stay in the Garden Villas again…treat yourself 🙂
